FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What science supports the benefits of drumming?

Research has shown that rhythmic activities can positively influence attention, mood, stress levels, social connection, and overall well-being. Drumming engages multiple areas of the brain simultaneously, promotes synchronization between participants, and can help shift the nervous system toward a more regulated state. While we don't claim drumming is a cure for anything, we've witnessed firsthand how rhythm can improve focus, connection, presence, and resilience.

Where are your classes and events held?

Play The Drum offers workshops, classes, and events throughout the Greater Philadelphia region and beyond. We also provide on-site experiences for corporations, schools, sports teams, conferences, retreats, and private groups. Online courses and virtual offerings are also available.

How can drumming help meditation?

Drumming provides a focal point for attention, much like the breath in traditional meditation. As you settle into a rhythm, mental chatter often quiets, awareness deepens, and a sense of flow emerges. This is rhythmic mindfulness. Many participants find drumming to be an active form of meditation that is accessible, enjoyable, and deeply grounding.
